Archive for August, 2013

This year, I decided to start up my very first senior model program. I was lucky to end up with many applicants and three wonderful final reps. I had my first shoot with these girls a couple of weekends ago and it was a blast! I was able to get to know each of them and find out about their personal style and preferences. I absolutely cannot wait for them to each have their private sessions AND for one of the lucky girls (the girl who brings in the most senior referrals) to have an additional end of the year session with all of her friends.

I am so happy with the way that these pictures turned out. I’d love it if you’d take a look:

First up is Alison:

And then Maegan:

And, finally, Morgan:

Not only are 3 lovely young ladies featured in this blog… Also making their debut are my fab business t-shirts. I worked on this design for weeks and I am so excited to finally be able to show them off. 🙂

To my senior models and their parents: thank you guys so much for participating in this experience! I know that you all will do an excellent job and that we will all have the BEST year.

To those interested in senior photos- It is NEVER too early to start planning! Every year, I have to turn away just as many clients as I actually book because of having no available spots. This happens because so many people wait and try to book portraits a couple of weeks before graduation. If you want PROFESSIONAL senior pictures, you need to book early! (Many already have!) Typically, to get a session, you need to book around 2 months in advance. I am taking seniors from now until the end of March, so if you would like to book with me, you need to do so by the end of January at the latest!

I would love to have you as a client, so CALL ME! And soon. Seniors are my very FAVES and I am so ready to meet all of my 2014 clients! 🙂

This year, senior season is starting super early… and I LOVE it! It is no secret that seniors sessions = one of my FAVES! I’ve already started booking a ton of awesome guys and girls and I couldn’t be more excited!

To top it all off, one of my favorite people in the world, my baby brother, is now a senior! (Cue a mid-life crisis, bout of depression, hysterical crying, etc.) Everyone knows how close me and Brad are and everyone knows that I’ve been saying (for nearly 4 years now) that come May, I am never getting out of bed again if he decides to go to college somewhere that is more than an hour away from my house. If you would like to help me avoid this, you can assist in my devious plan to find him a girlfriend. Why, you ask? Because I think that it would give him another reason (besides his fab family and awesome friends) to stay close to home. 😉 (Yep, I’m dramatic.) But seriously… it shouldn’t be hard. (You’ll see why when to get to the whole photo part of this blog…)

Moving on…

Brad, who is either in love with seeing himself on my blog or has become a total picture diva, has decided on FOUR sessions. Yep. Four. (It’s a hard life having a photographer big sister…)

This blog will feature the first two shoots from Amana, Iowa and Chicago, Illinois. In several months, I’ll be sure to post another blog displaying photos from his other two sessions, which will have hunting and baseball themes.

When Brad and I first decided that we would be doing his first 2 sessions across the country, I was SO stoked. In a profession like this, you need to keep growing, learning, experimenting, and moving forward. Nothing keeps you on your toes like going to a new state and starting from scratch. 😉

We had SO much fun playing around with locations, poses, lighting, etc. during these shoots, which created some really awesome photos. A lot of these pictures are some of my all-time favorites in the history of my business. I’m so excited to finally be able to show you guys what we did. 🙂

And now for the best part of ever session… Bloopers.

Thanks for reading guys! Tomorrow we’ll have a fab senior rep blog to view and a lot of important info regarding senior clients. Come back often for updates, stories, and, of course, photos! 🙂

I had so much fun over the past few months with this wonderful couple! Francis, Karen, and their family members are SO sweet and were a total pleasure to work with! To top it off, this wedding was extremely beautiful and fun. The whole experience was amazing and I enjoyed it so much. Here are a few of my very favorites from the day:

Thank you guys for asking me to be a part of your journey and I can’t wait to work with yall in the future!
