Archive for November, 2012

Last week, I kicked off senior season in the most fabulous way! My first senior of the 2013 graduating class was Olivia! Like me, she’s a pinterest lover and therefore had LOTS of props to make her photos extra creative. We had an awesome time and captured some beautiful photos! Here are a few of my MANY favorites:

Thank you, Olivia, for letting me document this important time in your life for you! I look forward to working with you again in the future. :) Until next time guys!

A few weeks ago, I got THE most exciting news. My best friend’s boyfriend texted me to tell me that he had bought a ring, was going to propose to Alyssa, and wanted my help! I was nearly bouncing off the walls. So many thoughts raced through my head: “Finally,” “OMG I get to be there,” “Eeeeek,” “She’s going to be so excited,” and “Oh God I hope I don’t have to keep this secret for very long” were a few. Immediately, I started helping Cody plan the proposal while simultaneously looking up ideas for maid of honor toasts and pinning bachelorette party ideas. Yes, I am a little insane.

A week or so after that, me and Alyssa spent the whole day together visiting. About two hours in, she mentioned getting engaged. I knew she was onto it and therefore spent the rest of the night lying my butt off and convincing her that I just “had a feeling” that it was going to happen on New Year’s. (What? I needed to throw her off!) Thankfully, she bought it and went about her business. :)

Finally, Saturday, November 24th came. I think I was more nervous than Cody. I literally had to pull over on the way there. I was near hyperventilation. Why? I don’t know. It’s not like I thought she was going to say no or anything like that. Again, I’m weird.

So, Cody and Alyssa walk up to the boardwalk. Me and Ben, being the avid stalkers that we are, are waiting across the street, crouching behind cars, and getting very strange looks from those passing by. I’m texting Cody the whole time, trying to lead him to a certain spot so that my hiding spot would be secure AND so I could get good enough photos! That was kind of a disaster. He was nervous. I was nervous. I didn’t want to be seen. I’m bad with directions. Just look:

So, finally, they just found a random bench and sat down. I guess, at that point, Cody couldn’t take it anymore. He pulled out a “birthday” card, gave it to Alyssa, and about 17 seconds later, they were engaged. Between me and Ben, we only got about 4 photos. Haha! :) Take a look:

After the proposal, the nerves faded (sorta – my adrenaline was still through the roof!) and I got to spend a couple of amazing hours with my wonderful friends celebrating. :) It was a beautiful day for two beautiful people. :)

Cody, thank you so much for including me in this amazing process! It will always be one of my most special memories!

Alyssa, I love you and I’m so happy for you! Let the planning parties begin!

Congrats you two! :) This is just the beginning!

…Oh… and here are a few embarrassing photos of the whole gang for yall. :)

When I was in high school, my favorite time of the year was homecoming. Dressing up, taking pictures, dancing the night away. What’s not to love? One of my favorite parts of my job is being able to document special times like this for my family members.

Although I don’t typically photograph homecoming dances, I am always willing to make an exception for my little brother. :) This year, I was able to meet up with him, his date, his friends, and my family members to photograph him before he set off to the dance. I got a lot of great photos and I’m so happy to finally be able to share them with you. Here they are:

Thanks for browsing folks! Next up is a recap of my 2012 fall family sessions! :)
